JsCIN: JavaScript based Chinese Input Methods
JsCIN is a Chrome add-on developed by JsCIN Developers that provides Chinese input methods compatible with XCIN/GCIN for Google ChromeOS™. This free add-on allows users to easily input Chinese characters while using Chrome on ChromeOS.
JsCIN offers a convenient and stable solution for Chinese input on ChromeOS. It supports the installation of *.cin tables or GCIN's .gtab, and users can use the official version of gtab without any issues. For ChromeOS versions before R28, users can enable JsCIN by going to "Settings" > "Language and input" > "Extension IMEs" and checking the box next to JsCIN. For ChromeOS R29 and later versions, users can add Chinese (Traditional Chinese) in the language settings and check the box next to JsCIN in the list. If JsCIN does not appear, users can try logging out and logging back in or follow alternative installation steps.
On other platforms such as Mac, Linux, and Windows, JsCIN can be installed in Chrome to enable Chinese input. Users can switch between English and Chinese input by pressing the Shift key, and selecting different input methods can be done by clicking on the "中" icon in the address bar.
